Central to any food or beverage photoshoot is the food stylist’s access to adequate preparation space and the tools necessary to successfully navigate the project goals smoothly, with minimal stress or confusion. To that end, a well appropriated and thoughtfully designed kitchen is key. Blue Moon Studio is pleased to offer full kitchen amenities including (2) full-sized convertible refrigerators w/bottom freezers, a dedicated upright freezer, full-sized dishwasher and over range microwave, gas range with 6 stovetop burners and double ovens, as well as a large, centralized kitchen island and additional portable workstations. Our pantry is well stocked with the ingredients regularly utilized by our stylists, along with the prep tools and cooking implements, pans and baking sheets generally employed, and even some tricks of the trade such as propping ice and a smoke machine.
The Studio and It's Gear
Seamlessly adjacent to our shooting area and lined by a full bank of windows to allow for natural light options, our kitchen layout is both spacious and proximal, affording hot food to make it to set still hot, food and prop stylists room to maneuver deftly about set, and Art Directors full monitor viewing and input access to the entire scene. Our technology is current, top shelf and ever expanding. With Canon and Phase One camera options, Pro Foto lighting and Capture One and Photoshop software as our base tools, our capabilities afford for beautiful still images across a wide range of lighting, focus and usage needs; additionally, we are at the ready for video and 360° spin photography needs.
Prop and Surface Options
Our studio maintains a ready stock of dishes, glassware, linens, serving vessels and propping accents. We also have a wide range of background and surface options for set themes of all design. Solid colors to rustic woods, assorted marbles, metal and painted boards in a plethora of colors and patterns are available for our clients’ use as we collaborate to achieve their project vision.
